Saudi consul general in Guangzhou, Abdullah Zafer H. Bin Abiyah, predicted that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will become a global investment destination during a recent interview.
In 2022, Abiyah traveled to Nansha to meet with local officials to discuss how to strengthen cooperation and explore investment opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. "We have received a lot of investment opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, and Saudi Arabia is currently studying how to better invest in this globally important economic region," he said.
Abiyah added that he believes that the Greater Bay Area will become a global investment destination in the next five years due to its incentives for foreign investors, as well as its strong infrastructure, including its modern transportation networks and Nansha Port.
He also noted that Guangzhou and Saudi Arabia have a long history of economic and trade exchanges. Currently, the two sides have close exchanges in many fields, such as the electric vehicle industry, furniture industry, construction engineering, and housing.
