Omar Elgendy, an Egyptian native and graduate from Ain Shams University who studied Chinese literature, said that Guangzhou is a promising land for every youth to create their own future.

He said that there are abundant business opportunities in Guangzhou and that Arabs can be seen everywhere. He noted that Arabic restaurants and Turkish restaurants have been multiplying in the city over recent years, adding to his deep love for life in Guangzhou.

By setting up his own business, Guangzhou Ocean Alliance International Trading, he has also launched some of his products in the domestic market. He credited his e-commerce and WeChat accounts for contributing to his business' success.

He has also begun to conduct transactions on cross-border e-commerce platforms and created his Facebook account to promote excellent products made by Chinese enterprises.

Elgendy has lived in China for nearly a decade and has developed a profound knowledge of Chinese culture. In turn, he credited the country for reshaping his life in various ways and for helping him find a sense of belonging in Guangzhou.
