The 11th "Win in Guangzhou" and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area College Student Entrepreneurship Competition was launched on April 18.

The competition covers more than 150 colleges and universities in the Greater Bay Area and outside Guangdong province, aiming to promote the construction of the Greater Bay Area and encourage college students to carry out their entrepreneurship goals.

Interested college students can take part in the competition by forming teams. Team members can come from different colleges and each team should have between three to eight people in it.

The products or services offered by the participants must have technical support and be practical. Of note, the participants must have legal intellectual property rights or use rights to their work.

Participating teams can log in through the "the 11th Win in Guangzhou Entrepreneurship Competition" WeChat mini-program and click the "Sign Up" button at the bottom to enter the page where they can upload project information.

The whole competition takes part in three phases. The final phase takes place from September to October, in which the finals and the display of entrepreneurial achievements will be carried out, where participants can receive up to 300,000 yuan ($46,142) in rewards.

Outstanding entrepreneurial projects that have obtained an industrial and commercial business license or other statutory registration procedures in Guangzhou within two years from the date of the award can apply for excellent entrepreneurial project funding. The subsidy standard is 200,000 yuan for first-prize winners, 150,000 yuan for second-prize winners, and 100,000 yuan for third-prize winners.

The competition has been held for 11 consecutive years. Over the past 11 years, the competition has continuously stimulated the entrepreneurship and innovation of college students through government guidance, social support, as well as college participation.

Since 2016, the competition has included the entrepreneurial projects of college students in Hong Kong and Macao into the scope of the competition. Since 2019, the division for Hong Kong and Macau has been added. The competition covers 21 cities in Guangdong province, Hong Kong, and Macao.

As of 2021, the competition has issued about 14.99 million yuan in support funds and awarded 461 entrepreneurial projects. It has also promoted 155 registered enterprises, supported 19 entrepreneurial projects with sales exceeding 10 million yuan, and created about 6,000 jobs.
