The three-day 2021 Asia Youth Leaders Forum commenced in Guangzhou's Nansha district on Nov 27, gathering nearly 300 Asian youths representatives both online and on-site such as entrepreneurs, financiers, and public welfare and charity figures with social influence.

Hot topics such as technological innovation, smart cities, culture, tourism and sports exchanges, global finance and investment cooperation, healthcare, and overall cooperation and development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were discussed during the event.

The forum was hosted by the China Public Diplomacy Association, the China Foundation for Peace and Development, the Guangzhou municipal government and the Asian Youth Leadership Association with an aim to boost communication and cooperation among Asian youths, promote people-to-people exchanges in countries and regions alongside the Belt and Road, and make contributions to building a global community with a shared future.

Guests that attended the event agreed that more communication should be deepened in science and technology as well as in humanities and arts among youths to contribute more to the sustainable global development and bright future of Asia.

Former President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyoc expressed her hope in a video speech that more Filipino youths can see the miracles that have occurred from the development of the Chinese economy through their own eyes and communicate more with Chinese youths.

Ban Ki-moon, former UN secretary general, spoke highly in a video about the great efforts the Chinese government has made in realizing sustainable development goals and he hopes that Asia's youths can shoulder this responsibility.
