Guangzhou, Indonesian city establish friendly city relationship

Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou, met with Syarif Fasha, mayor of Jambi, Indonesia online on July 26, and signed a letter of intent of establishing a friendly city relationship between two cities. 

Jambi is the provincial capital city of Jambi province in eastern Sumatra, Indonesia and is home to a complete infrastructure with rich tourism resources. 

Wen expressed his hope that the two cities can actively carry out more cooperation and communication after the signing of the letter of intent, and health departments in the two cities can enhance medical industry matchmaking to push forward the implementation of cooperative projects, bringing more benefits to both sides. 

Fasha noted that the signing of the letter of intent has showcased the determination of two cities in deepening cooperation in areas spanning tourism, education and health. 

He added that he hopes that Guangzhou can share information and experience in urban construction and development with Jambi and conduct more cooperation with Jambi in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
