Guangzhou Wanglaoji Health Industry Co Ltd, one of China's leading herbal tea makers, has teamed up with the short video service platform Kuaishou to promote its brand expansion and Chinese auspiciousness culture during the Spring Festival holiday.

Both sides will jointly issue new online-designated products and launch several online video and livestreaming competitions on Kuaishou, which has more than 300 million active users per day, to promote the Wanglaoji brand.

"As there is a growing number of consumers online, we need to promote a healthy lifestyle and the Chinese auspiciousness culture among young people," said Ye Jizeng, vice-general manager of Wanglaoji.

Ji, in Chinese, means auspiciousness or luck, which is a symbol for wishing during the Chinese Lunar New Year, which begins on Feb 12.

According to Ye, the company also will issue new designs on its red-can beverage by introducing Chinese surnames, such as Huanglaoji, Lilaoji and Zhanglaoji, during the Spring Festival holiday.
