Global summit on IPv6 opens in Nansha

The 2020 IPv6 Summit, organized by the IPv6 Forum, kicked off on July 30 in Guangzhou's Nansha district.

IPv6 stands for Internet Protocol Version 6, the most recent IP system.

Series activities, such as a general assembly, an awards ceremony, a round-table forum, and two technical summits, were scheduled to be held to fully showcase the latest developments of the IPv6 industry and technologies, offering a platform for mutual communication.

Outstanding representatives from the IPV6 industry from both home and abroad were invited to participate in the summit, carrying out discussions on various pressing issues like the integrated innovation of IPv6, the new infrastructure development of the next generation Internet, as well as coordinated innovation for global technologies in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era.

Experts like Vinton Cerf, co-designer of the TCP/IP internet network protocol, Hiroshi Esaki, chairman of WIDE (Japan), Jun Murai, a pioneer that is being inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame, as well as domestic experts from outstanding universities and the Chinese Academy of Engineering presented and delivered speeches during the summit.
