A China-Europe freight train of 45 carriages loaded with quality light industrial products, all manufactured in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, departed from Guangzhou's Dalang station on July 22.

The train, expected to arrive in Moscow, Russia 15 days after departure, was the 30th of its kind to head to Russia from the Greater Bay Area this year.

By July 22, a total of 94 China-Europe freight trains have set off from the Greater Bay Area, up 15 percent year-on-year.

More than 100 logistics companies from both home and abroad have now teamed up with China Railway Guangzhou Group Co Ltd to transport hundreds of industrial products from the Greater Bay Area, as well as agricultural products from European countries, via China-Europe freight trains.

Zhu Luzhi, general manager of Shenzhen Neptune Logistics Co Ltd, said that the operation of China-Europe freight trains has met the needs of modern logistics development, offering a new channel for exporting Guangdong products to Russia.

"The Greater Bay Area, an area with the most developed and frequent foreign trade in China, is expecting to see more demand for carrying out foreign trade through the China-Europe freight trains in the second half of 2020," said Huang Liming, a chief engineer from China Railway Guangzhou Group Co Ltd.

Ma Renhong, executive chairman of the Guangdong Logistics Profession Association, said that using China-Europe freight trains to promote foreign trade is a positive step in accelerating the development of the global logistics industry.
