Nansha has released a document on encouraging and supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship of Hong Kong and Macao youths in the district on May 20.

The trial draft of the document that included 30 measures was launched in October 2019. "The latest version has offered clearer guidance in areas like application requirements and approval process," said Xu Qianqiu, deputy director of the Nansha committee of the Communist Youth League.

The document has further expanded the development space for Hong Kong and Macao youths in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, especially in Nansha.

Hong Kong and Macao youths participating in the internship project launched by the district government can enjoy free services in areas like accommodation, dining, transportation, and insurance. They can also receive a one-time reward of 3,000 yuan ($422.39) as long as they perform well.

They can receive a subsidy of 1,500 yuan every month for transportation and rent for one year. However, applicants for this subsidy should have worked in Nansha for more than one year and pay for social insurance for more than six consecutive months or have set up companies in Nansha that have carried out normal operations for over one year.

Materials are also required to be submitted when applying for the subsidy, namely their house-leasing contracts for more than six months or their records of exit and entry for six months in one year. The records should have more than four round trips a month on average.

The headquarters base for the innovation and entrepreneurship of Hong Kong and Macao youths in Nansha was also put into operation on May 20 and is expected to become a benchmark in the area.
