Congo consul general praises Guangzhou's COVID-19 epidemic control efforts

Ebolo Emmanuel, consul general of Congo in Guangzhou, spoke highly of the effective measures that Guangdong province and Guangzhou have taken in the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) during an interview on April 21.

Ebolo, who started his induction in February 2018, has been in Guangzhou for more than two years. "Guangzhou people are very nice. They are as close as friends," he said.

Currently, over 100 people from Congo lives in Guangzhou and 90 percent of them are overseas students.

"We have attached great importance to the control of imported COVID-19 cases and we fully understand the strict measures taken by the provincial and municipal governments including the nucleic acid testing. All these efforts are aimed at bringing people's lives back to normal," said Ebolo.

Ebolo noted that China's experience in fighting against COVID-19 is of great importance in helping other countries win their fight against the epidemic.
