C40 cities share virus fight experiences in video conference

A global video conference launched by Eric Garcetti, mayor of Los Angeles, the United States, was held online on March 27.

The conference was themed around the global outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pneumonia, gathering 120 representatives from 45 member cities of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group from 33 countries and regions, such as Los Angeles, Boston, Athens, Milan, Paris, Guangzhou, Beijing, and Hong Kong.

Guangzhou shared its experience in fighting the novel coronavirus in papers to help other cities carry out COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control efforts.

The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is an organization of city mayors collaborating to fight climate change that was founded in 2005.

Currently, it has 96 member cities around the world, of which all members are metropolitan cities with a population of more than 3 million and are important strategic places in fighting climate change.

A total of 12 Chinese cities have been members of the C40, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Nanjing, Fuzhou, and Hangzhou.
