The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Construction and Development Forum opened on Nov 11 in Guangzhou, attracting government officials, scholars, experts, and entrepreneurs from the Greater Bay Area, as well as Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Zhang Hu, vice governor of Guangdong province, said that Guangdong will deepen its cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao in areas spanning innovation driven development, industrial synergy, openness and cooperation, platform construction, ecological development, as well as urban development to promote the further development of the Greater Bay Area.

"The key to the construction and development of the Greater Bay Area is coordinated development," said Li Xin, vice chairman of the CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee.

Li said that Guangzhou and Shenzhen are two engines for Guangdong's development, and that the deep participation of Hong Kong and Macao will provide huge opportunities for the high-quality development of Guangdong province. In addition, Guangdong will offer strong support for the prosperity and stabilization of Hong Kong and Macao.

A cultural tourism media communication alliance of the Greater Bay Area was also officially established during the event. The alliance includes 10 cities in Guangdong, including Guangzhou, Foshan, Meizhou, Huizhou, Maoming, and Qingyuan, along with several districts and counties like Guangzhou's Yuexiu district, Shenzhen's Longgang district, and Zhuhai's Hengqin New Area.

The alliance is expected to explore cooperative mechanisms among cultural tourism organizations in the Greater Bay Area and upgrade the core competitiveness of the area in cultural tourism.
