South China Book Festival kicks off in Guangzhou

The 2019 South China Book Festival got underway in Guangzhou on Aug 16, offering a variety of cultural activities for residents and visitors at a 40,000 square meter exhibition area at the China Import and Export Fair Complex.

The five-day event is the largest in record and offers the greatest discount for books compared to previous festivals in Guangzhou, according to organizers. 

In addition, 269 famous writers from home and abroad will be invited to take part in 189 cultural activities and interactive activities with visitors.  

The 2019 South China Book Festival also established a special "Silk Road and Greater Bay Area Exhibition Hall", which puts on display fine publications from home and abroad, as well as multicultural exchanges achievements. In addition, a cultural exhibition themed on the Greater Bay Area was also set up to showcase the cultural development achievements and blueprints of the city cluster of Guangdong cities, Hong Kong, and Macao in the forms of books, pictures, and videos.
