The cruise port has been connected with the metro by an underground passage, allowing people to walk between the two and making travelling by sea a lot more convenient for the people of Guangzhou.

The cruise port will hold ship berthing drills this October and officially start operating in November, according to insiders. It will be one of the largest cruise ship home port complexes in the country, capable of docking the world's largest luxury cruise ships. The port is expected to host 750,000 to 1,000,000 tourists annually.
