In celebration of International Women's Day, the Guangzhou-based China Southern Airlines is offering special treats for female passengers from March 8 to 14 at its lounge in the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

The airline is carrying out the activity with the help of Ecuador's department for the promotion of exports and investment. Gifts include roses, white shrimp, and coffee, all of which are Ecuadorian specialties.

On March 8, Carlos Larrea, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to China, and his wife even took part in special Women's Day celebrations on board flight CZ3103 from Guangzhou to Beijing. The couple joined flight attendants and China Southern Airlines employees to gift Ecuadorian roses to women on board. 

Since 2016, the Guangzhou airline has been cooperating with Ecuador to host Women's Day events, which have enhanced relations between the Chinese and Ecuadorian people and helped boost the economies of the two countries.

Ecuador boasts abundant natural resources and Ecuadorian products exported to China include bananas, white shrimp, roses, cocoa, coffee, and mangoes. China has also transferred high-end science and advanced management technology to Ecuador via major projects carried out by Chinese enterprises in Ecuador, such as the construction of hydropower plants and hospitals.
