Nansha to invest billions into key projects in 2019

Nansha district in Guangzhou will invest a total of 97.15 billion yuan ($14.8 billion) into 233 key projects in 2019, according to news released after a session on the district's key projects was held on Feb 12.

According to reports, Nansha invested 92.18 billion yuan into four major areas in 2018, including infrastructure, modern industry, livelihood, and urban renewal, an increase of 7.9 percent year on year.

Nansha invested 20.66 billion yuan into infrastructure, 110.6 percent of its annual investment plan for 2018. Projects included the Metro Line 18, which has entered the tunneling stage, the main line of the Humen Second Bridge, which has already opened to traffic, and the fourth phase of the Nansha Port Area, which has already began construction on its cofferdam.

Over 61.53 billion yuan was invested into modern industry, with 21 notable projects taking off, including the South China headquarters of China Railway Construction Corporation Ltd, the Guangzhou Nansha International Logistics Center, the Evergrande NEV plant, and the Haier Smart Manufacturing Center. 

Nansha also put 3.81 billion yuan into improving public infrastructure and 6.17 billion yuan into urban renovation projects.
