The Fourth Guangzhou Outdoor Sports Festival, hosted by the administration of sports of Guangzhou municipality, opened at Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou on the morning of March 25. Nearly 3,000 citizens attended the opening ceremony, creating a fervent climate for the upcoming series of mass sports events.

The attendees climbed to the top of Baiyun Mountain, where some of them took part in a slackline race that requires excellent acrobatic skills.

To promote the idea of environment protection, a volunteer activity to clean the wastes was launched at the same time. It called for Guangzhou residents to treasure every inch of land and take responsibility for building a pleasant natural environment in the city.

This year's festival, themed "Love outdoor sports, enjoy Mother Nature", consists of numerous national-level sports races which are about to take place in the coming months. It is expected to stimulate the development of outdoor sports activities in every street, community, and district in the city and promote the deep fusion of the sports and tourism industries.
