The park is home to over 200 hectares of plum trees and every December, more than a 100,000 plum trees go into full bloom, making the park the largest of its kind in southern China to exhibit plum blossoms.

The 16th Liuxihe National Forest Park Plum Festival went underway last week and will run until Jan 15 next year. The festival's riveting display of blossoms in full bloom together with the backdrop of shimmering lakes and green mountains is considered one of South China's top spectacles.
