The 122nd China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as the Canton Fair, opened in South China's Guangzhou city on Oct 15, attracting around 25,000 exhibitors to showcase more than 160,000 types of products.

At the fair, Chinese household appliance giants including Qingdao-based Haier Group, Zhuhai-based Gree Electric Appliances and Ningbo-based Aux Group all put their latest products and technologies on show to wow the visitors.

Haier made its booth at the fair look like a new product launch venue, displaying a range of the company's refrigerators featuring cutting-edge technologies. It also showcased a washing machine that can automatically distinguish fabric and colors and a self-cleaning air conditioner able to purify air. By rolling out high-end home appliances featuring great innovation, Haier has secured 22 percent growth in exports year-on-year from January to August this year.

Highlights at the fair also include a photovoltaic air conditioner developed by Gree. The special product integrates photovoltaic power generation with air conditioning and can send surplus electricity back to the grid. The photovoltaic power generation system and special regional power inter-connection system developed by the company has attracted a lot of attention at the fair.    

Other eye-catching products include an air conditioner developed by Guangdong Chigo Air Conditioning which features technologies including gesture control, security monitoring and live broadcasting as well as a smart oven and internet-connected fridge developed by Galanz Group.

"The Canton Fair is like a Spring Festival gala when every home appliance manufacturer displays its new products," said Li Xinghao, chairman of Guangdong Chigo Air Conditioning.

According to Xu Bing, spokesperson for the 122nd Canton Fair, a range of leading enterprises in China have attended the fair, showcasing their products with independent intellectual properties and core technologies and products featuring smart functions, good brands, customized design and low carbon are becoming the latest trends.
