The 2017 China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair got underway on May 26, where more than 1,300 cutting-edge technologies and innovative projects were put on show.

Covering 20,000 square meters, the exhibition features more than 30 special activities, three innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, and two roadshows.

A particular highlight was Guangzhou-based tech company Ehang displayed its Ehang 184, the world's first drone taxi capable of transporting a single passenger for up to 23 minutes.

Other than drones and driverless cars, the fair also exhibited more than 300 robot projects from around the world, including Switzerland's ABB, a global technology leader in electrification products, robotics and motion, and Germany's Kuka Roboter Co.

The Intelligent Software and System of Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) brought their intelligent platform of dealing with water-related affairs, which has already favored by a Hunan-based company. According to Lei Zhibing, director of the division, operators are able to manipulate an intelligent valve even under rugged environments, automatically monitor, control and prevent water pipes from breaking down.
